Creating charts using range names!

Hi All

I am trying to create charts using range names since these ranges nee
to be dynamic.

I am able to create a chart where only the data range is specified as
range name. I also want to be able to specify the X-axis labels using
range name. The X-axis shows months but the number of months along th
X-axis will change every month varying between 13 and 24.

If I enter a range name in the text box corresponding to the "Categor
(X) axis labels:" in the "Series" tab of the "Source Data" dialog bo
for any data series, it comes up with an error and does not let m
proceed further unless a range reference in terms of range address i
keyed in.

How can I do this? Any suggestions?

Best regards and thanks in advance!

If I understood your question right your (X) axis is just the date range you
already have explained you have selected. You don't select a name for the
(X) axis in "Source Data" dialog box. That is the time range for the (X)
axis.
If you want to label the (X) axis you right click on the chart, above the
graph area for example, and select Chart Options. There you can type in a
name for the (X) axis. After you click OK you can right click on that name
on the graph and select different fonts.

Hi

Is your range named properly? You have to define it as Sheetname.Rangename
Is your range defined properly? Click onto formula in RefersTo field of name
wizard - the range must be visible (marked with dashed border) on worksheet.
Are you referring to range in labels field properly? You have to refer to it
as Sheetname!Rangename
