creating "clean" font-logos

When I use Paint Shop Pro to create banners and buttons, my fonts all
have the "jaggies" even though theyre tru-type. Any guess as to why
this might happen? Anyone have a better graphics program with a short
learning curve?

do you have options for anti-aliasing in PSP?

Thanks for the direction...apaprently htere are plug-ins available for
anti-aliasing made by 3rd party developers. I have to look into
those. I thought there was something wrong in the way I used fonts.
