Creating/Combining Shapes

In the older versions of visio, shapes could be made by combining ttwo shapes
into one, working with the bisection of two shapes, the intersection, etc. I
just purchased visio 2007 and cannot find that capability. am i missing
something?

Do you mean all the items on the menu Shape -> Operations?
Nothing appears to have changed there. The menu and what each function
does appears exactlty the same.
