creating custom shading colors

I've created four custom colors (based on RGB values) for use in tables and
graphics in a business report. Numerous tables will be created in the
report, and each table column will be shaded one of the four custom colors.
Is there any way to make these custom colors appear in the Shading Color
palette tool on the Tables and Borders toolbar, so that I don't have to
create them in every_single_table that I create? Additionally, when I want
to shade graphics, such as a colored rectangle that will appear along the
header, can I make these custom colors appear in the Fill Color palette on
the Drawing toolbar?

Hi Hogon,

From your description I'm assuming you are working a a pre 2007 version of Word. Word 2007 has a themeing capability that lets you
create palletes, although there are still some 'rules' applied :)

In prior versions if you open the document template (such as Normal.dot) and then create your custom colors, they (up to 16) will
appear in the fill dialog (not gradient fill) pallette for shapes in all new documents created from that template.

The custom colors do not show up in the Table toolbar fill pallette, but you can modify or create a table style that uses custom
coloring for a row, column or the whole table, save that table style in the template and it too will be available for applying to
tables in new documents created from the template.
