Creating Flow Charts from Excel

S

shankarnarasimha

I have a complex flow chart to make which is also dynamic in nature. So
instead of creating the Visio diagram directly, I want to input the data into
an Excel.

Is there a way with Visio 2003 using which the diagrams (Shapes, Links) are
automatically created by reading the Excel data.. I downloaded the SDK after
reading another posting in this but not sure on what to do after downloading
the SDK.

Thanks
Shankar

Hi Shankar,

Visio 2007 has some nice data-import features that make it easy to get data
into shapes, but I'm not sure how good it is at producing the connections
between shapes.

If you are willing to do a bit of programming, this is possible. I've
created a simple tutorial (Visio 2003) that explains how to generatie a
Visio flowchart programmatically. Have a look here:
