In-house letterhead was created and saved in Word 2000 as
a template (.dot file) so that upon going into Word and
asking for File - New (document), the letterhead template
can be selected. One problem: Is there any way to 'lock'
the template, that is, format it so that it opens with the
graphics and text unable to be edited, and page formatting
at that point only applying to the text that is typed onto
the open template? As it is now, when the template is
opened page formatting (header, margins, etc.) is active
for the letterhead layout -- for instance, hitting enter
moves it down the page, changing the left margin shifts
the layout to the right, etc. I don't want any part of
the letterhead layout (text color, font, logo graphic,
etc.) to be available for changes except by the person who
created the master template. Is there any way to address
this?
