Creating group in contacts connecting to an Exchange server

Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: intel
Email Client: Exchange

I connect to an Exchange server at work from home. Within my "home" set of folders that connect to this server, when I go to File> New, the word "Group" is the only one that appears in grey...in other words, I cannot create a group. I must go to the "on my computers" set of folders, create the group in there, and then drag that group into the contacts folder in my "home" set. Further, when I do send an email to that group, instead of listing the group name in the "To:" field, it shows all the individual names of the recipients...also a drag. I would hope it would only show the group name in that field, protecting the privacy of members of the group. I am using Entourage 2008 on a Mac Book (intel). Suggestions?

Issue: Unable to create and a group in Entourage address book
Entourage cannot create groups directly to your exchange server and they will only show locally in Entourage. If you need to create a group go to your address book and highlight at least one contact in there and the group option will then be available. If you want to create a group from scratch that are not in your address book just follow the steps below.
1. Open Entourage address book
2. Click on the Adress Book on the left hand side under "Folders on My Computer" and you can now create a new group
3. Any groups created in Entourage will only show in Entourage and not on Exchange
