Creating HTML code from Microsoft Word 2007, using Source

I recently upgraded from Microsoft Office 2003 to Microsoft Professional
2007. While working on MS Word utilizing the 2003 program I could highlight
the data click on FILE and click on Website Page Preview. A new page would
appear with the desired data. I would then click on VIEW and then click on
SOURCE. NOTEPAD would appear with the new data in HTML code. I could then
Copy & Paste the HTML code into a website.

Now that I am using Microsoft Professional 2007 these tools do not seem to
be available. Could you be kind enough to explain the procedures to ape the
Microsoft Office 2003 program?

Hi, Tuk,

When you say copy and paste into a web site, I'm guessing you have some sort
of web interface that you paste into, and you're not using an editor such
as Dreamweaver or Expression Web? Just curious.

In Word 2007, it's a bit more awkward, but I've found one way (there may be
a better one): User File, Save as | Other Formats, then select Web Page,
Filtered (htm, html). Save the file to your desktop or documents, then
double-click it in Windows Explorer to open it in Internet Explorer. View
Source, copy, paste and there you go.

It's an extra step from what you appear to have had before.

The thing I also don't like about using Word for HTML is that, by default,
Word creates very "junky" HTML that contains a lot of things you may not
need in your HTML. That's why I prefer the "Web Page, Filtered" option, as
it strips out a lot of the Microsoft-specific code and leaves the HTML
pretty clean and standards-based.
