creating html from word (windows 95 program on windows 98)

Foxfield Bob

I would like to convert some word files to html; but my version (word for
windows 95, ver 7.0; which came on the MS Office standard CD) does not seem
to have that capability and I can not find a download.

My old Word for Windows ver 2.0 had that function.

Any suggestions would be appreciated ( except buying all new packlage).

Hi Bob,

The first MS produced add-in that would save files in
HTML was for Word v6. For Word 95 ver7 you can download
the Word Internet Assistant.

Keep in mind that it was
written when things like Tables for web pages were not
the 'norm' (i.e. its capabilities for handling/generating
web pages is fairly 'light'), and you can probably out
do it with a number of free 3rd party HTML editors/generators
including First Page 2000 http://www.evrsoft.com/
or Aracnophillia: http://www.arachnoid.com/arachnophilia/
