Creating Images for Templates.

When you go to open a Microsoft Template, it gives you a nice little image of
the template you are going to open in the Template window.

When I go to open a template I created, all I see is a picture with some
lines on it (representing writing) and a black X on the bottom. Is there any
way to create a picture to go along with my templates, like the ones MS has
for their own documents?

I tried checking off the "Save Thumbnail" option when saving, but that
didn't do anything. Any ideas?
