Creating Labels

T

Travis

I want to be able to create labels on Avery 5160. I just want there to be a
number such as 246772 in the center of the first label. I want the next
label to be 246773 and so on and so forth. There should never be a duplicate
number it should keep increasing itself by one. We used to have something
setup to where I could create all the numbers in Excel and then merge it into
the labels in word but some one screwed that up and no one here knows how to
do it.

Any Ideas?

Thanks

Open a new spreadsheet in Excel. In cell A1 type the word "Number" (without
the quotes). In cell A2 enter the number that you wish to start with. In
cell A3 enter the following formula =A2 + 1. Copy cell A3 down as far as
required. Save and close the spreadsheet.

Now create a label mailmerge main document and link it to the Excel
Spreadsheet and insert the Mergefield "number" in the required position on
the label. Follow the steps to replicate the set up to each label on the
sheet and then execute the merge.
