creating links between excel and word

I am trying to import portfolio value data from an excel
worksheet to a bill in word. Is this possible if so can
someone please provide me some assistance. I just need the
updated portfolio in the worksheet to be linked to that it
will also be updated in the word document.

Sure you can.

I would create a table in word. Then copy the cell you
want to link while in excel. Go to word and left click on
the table position you want your link to be in. Go to the
edit menu, go to paste special and click the link box,
select the proper format, click OK.

Be sure to go to the Edit menu, then Links click the box
to lock links, or at least the manual calculation box when
you want to lock down the word document.
