I am not very computer literate. I have been advised to install Office for Mac 2008 (Home & Student edition) on my iMac computer to enable me to create Avery mailing labels using data from a spreadsheet, which I can't presently do.
Before I install it, will I easily be able to do this?
Also, will I easily be able to transfer my spreadsheet to Word?

Hi,
I am not very computer literate. I have been advised to install Office for Mac

mailing labels using data from a spreadsheet, which I can't presently do.
Before I install it, will I easily be able to do this?

Once you know how to do it, it is pretty straightforward. Open Word's help
function and search for an article called "Create mailing labels by using
mail merge"; this will give you step-by-step instructions on how to proceed.
If anything is unclear, you can always post your questions in here.
Also, will I easily be able to transfer my spreadsheet to Word?

It depends on the file format. If it is an Excel file, you can use it
without any problems. Other formats may have to be converted before you can
use the spreadsheet. As a general rule: if you can open and save the file in
Excel, you can use it for mail merge in Word.

How do you use an excel file to create and print addressed envelopes using
Office 2008 for mac?

Follow the same instructions given to the owner of this thread who asked
exactly the same question :) Personally, though I prefer the Excel Help
topic: "Create and print mailing labels" rather than the one Michel referred
the OP to. That doesn't explain how to set up an Excel sheet as a data
source but instead guides you toward using a Word table.
