creating new folder

how do i create folders within documents in Word 2008

Uh, you don't create folders within documents in Word in any version.

Are you new to the Mac? Are you perhaps trying to create a new folder
while you are in the File | Open dialog? If so, you need to click on
the blue face in the Dock to switch to the Finder and do all your
creating folders, moving files, and deleting files in the Finder, not
the File | Open dialog.

If that doesn't solve your problem, you need to explain more carefully,
cause I can't tell what you are talking about.
