Creating Numbered Tickets

I need 300 sequentionally numbered tickets created in Publisher 2003 on Win
XP. I tried catalog merge but when I copied the ticket five down, all I got
was five copies of ticket 10001. I don't need 300 sheets of paper! I need
five tickets per sheet times 60 sheets. Can this be done in MS Publisher?

Sure it can be done in Publisher. Figure out how large your ticket will be. You
can only have one ticket on your screen for a merge to work. If you use the
catalog merge, fill in only one catalog block.
Lots of help here

I have a ticket template on my web site, it is four per sheet.
http://msauer.mvps.org/publisher_projects2.htm Scroll down to below George
Washington.

Setup a database with your consecutive numbers. There is an Excel example here
http://msauer.mvps.org/misc.htm Access is about the same.

I found these suggestions for making numbered raffle tkts and followed them.

I made my tkt from a Publisher "Gift Certificate" template that I re-worked to suit my need. I have an Excel file with consectutive numbers. After the merge, I see the 4 tkts on page 1 all are numbered 1001; the 4 tkts on page 2 are all numbered 1002; the 4 tkts on page 3 are all numbered 1003 - and so on...

How do I get the number to change with each tkt rather than with each page?

Thanks - Barbara

What version Publisher are you using?
If you are using Publisher 2002 or 03 the print preview showing all the same on
a page is a bug. You can print a test from the print screen if you are unsure.

It Publisher 2007, after you have setup your ticket to your specifications, go
straight to File, Print merge, be certain you have multiple pages per sheet
selected, there is a print preview on this screen.

You can only have one ticket on your screen for a merge to be successful.

I solved my own problem. I was looking at PRINT PREVIEW only. Once I actually printed a few, the numbers changed with each tkt.

Thanks - barb
