Creating PDFs from Pwerpoint not working

I am use Powerpoint 2004 for Mac 11.3.2 - Teacher edition

I recently installed Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Professional 7.0.9 with the
view of making PDFs of important documents.

Unfortunatley, when trying to create a PDF from PowerPoint or Word,
the Acrobat PDFMaker pop up displays the progress bar - all good.
however, the progress bar progressed to about 9/10 complete when it
stop and hangs - wait and wait forever, it does not complete.

This exact thing happens in Word.

Why could this be? I have updated my software and my MacBook is new,
confused and looking for help, please . . .

Don't use the PDFMaker. Print the file to a PostScript file, then distill it
manually.
