When I try to create a new re-occurring event, as soon as I try close the dialog box, Entourage crashes. Any ideas on how to fix this? I've tried to set it with no end date or after 10 occurrences, with no difference in behavior... Help!

Thanks in advance!

I sure don't have this problem. What version do you have?? Are you all
the way up to date to 12.1.5??

If yes, you shoudl consider launching Entourage pressing the Option key
down to rebuild your database,

Hi Corentin,

I'm all the way up to date to 12.1.5. I've also rebuild my database. however, it still crashes whenever I try to close the dialog that edits the reoccuring event frequency. It's an instant crash as soon as you hit Ok on the dialog box.

BTW, I'm on Exchange 2007.

I'm all the way up to date to 12.1.5. I've also rebuild my database. however,
it still crashes whenever I try to close the dialog that edits the reoccuring
event frequency. It's an instant crash as soon as you hit Ok on the dialog
box.

BTW, I'm on Exchange 2007.

Let's verify if it's database corruption. Create a new Identity in
Entourage. You can try testing before you add your account info. If it works
correctly then add your Exchange account and test. Generally, it's best to
start with a new Identity for Exchange accounts rather than trying to
rebuild.

If your test failed in the new Identity, then Go to System Preferences -->
Create a New User in Accounts. Switch to the New User by logging out/in or
use Fast User Switching. Test Entourage there. If the test with a new blank
Identity works, then you can move your Identity in your regular User's
folder to Shared so you can test it in the new User.

Let me know what you find.

Thank you Diane,

I've created a new identity called Test and it still fails. I've not even tried to setup the Exchange yet... I simply click on New->Events and try to edit the re-occurring diaglog. As soon as I hit OK, it crashes Entourage.

I'll try to create a new user next...

Diane,

I've created a new user acct - Test. Moved over my identity, and was able to successfully create a new re-occuring calendar event. Note, I didn't try to connect to Exchange, just simply try to create a new calendar event. It seems to work fine... What do I do now?!?

Thanks again!

If a new User Account works this indicates problems in your User's folder.
See the steps on this page. Start with #4. Log out/in with Shift key down to
disable your startup items. If that doesn't help, then do #2, #3 and #8.
When testing preferences, log out/in after you remove the preference files.

If the problem involved the Microsoft folder in preferences, be sure to
recover your custom dictionary file.

Let me know if this was a Microsoft file or if it was one of your other
preference files.

Thanks for your response. Which page is "this page"? Is there a link to it? Where can I find it?

Diane,

I think I figure out what the problem is now...

I've been using this hack to get Date to show up on the OSX Menu Bar -

<http://paulstamatiou.com/2006/06/11/how-to-display-date-in-os-x-menu-bar>

When this is enabled, I can't set up an reoccurring event without crashing Entourage. It modified the Medium format for time system wide. When I disable this, all of the sudden everything starts to work again... Guess I should not use this hack to add date to the menu bar...

Again, thanks a bunch for your help!

George
