creating recurring events crashes Entourage

I have Entourage 2008 with all of the latest updates both for Office and for OS X, and for some reason, any time I try to create a recurring event, Entourage crashes. Specifically, I'm trying to create an event at 11:45 AM - 1:15 PM on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. As soon as I push the "Custom..." under "Occurs:," select Monday, Wednesday and Friday, select the end date in the future and click OK, Entourage crashes.

I've submitted reports to Microsoft, but I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem, and if so, if they have a solution.

Create a new Identity in Entourage. Test to see if you can create a new
event. If yes, then it's probably database corruption. If not, then create a
new User in System Preferences and do the same test there. If it works in
the new User, then it's a problem in your User's folder.

How to rebuild your Identity:

Let me know what you find.

See this page for help with crashes. Specifically quits entering events is
not listed, but a similar situation occurs when opening Entourage
preferences. A re-install fixes that crash.
