Hi,
Have been pulling out my hair on on this.
We use Project 2003 Pro, and Project 2003 Server
I have created MV outline codes at 20,21,22,23 for product
competencies, business competnecies, qualifications, primary roles.
Q1: Is there any way to change the column width of the "Value" column
when using the Filter in the "build team" view in PWA? Using PWA is my
preference because only Enterprise outline codes are shown (as opposed
to all outline codes when using the MS Proj Pro filter), making it
easier for the user to choose appropriate field (only has to choose
from 5 or 6 as opposed to 20 or 30). My problem is that in the PWA
view, the "Value" column isn't wide enough to show the full path to the
MV outline code value (e.g. Operating Systems.Microsoft.Windows 2000
Professional.Advanced. I could have used abbreviations, but as I work
in a company where english is the 2nd language for a lot of people, I
needed to make these values as clear as possible.
Q2: Now that I have all these MV's populated and working (build team
works well), I would like to statically report on the values held in
the DB. Two reports that come to mind are: (1) a report grouped by
skill which shows total number of each skill we have - e.g.so I can
instantly see how many CCNA's we have at any one time, or how many
Advanced SQL server people we have. (2) A report grouped by employee,
listing all their recorded competencies.
I can see these values in the OLAP cube using porfolio analyzer but
have read from you elsewhere Dale, that MV outline codes cannot be used
in the portfolio analyzer...What are my options. Should I build a
custom report using Crystal - is this even possible, as I note the MV
values are all stored in the same field (comma spearted) for each
employee in the MSP_View_Res_Ent table.
Should I use MS SQL Report Services, Can I create these reports using
MS Project 2003 Pro? I'm all out of ideas...
Thanks in advance
