creating schedules that will automatically shift time values?

I am creating schedule templates in Word. I want
to know if there is a way to cut and paste new items into
a schedule and have the program automatically shift
subsequent time values. I also want
to know if this is possible in Works Spreadsheet. Does
either program deal effectively with time?
