We have a large number of very intelligent people producing
presentations on PPT 2000. Unfortunately they often forget to resize
photos before inserting them in PPT. A simple copy-and-paste from
PhotoEditor once resulted in a single 32Mb slide!!!
What I would like to see is a filter that controls the "insert pictures
from file" feature. The user (or company) would set resolution
(150dpi) and maximum photo size (Max width = 24 cm or Max height =
18cm) and JPEG compression (=85) then the filter would transform the
photo from its original heavy format to a light file that is then
placed on the slide.
I have seen 500Mb PPT presentations (not from us!) so this must be a
problem for many users worldwide.
I have tried some products like http://www.nxpowerlite.com/ but this
works after the "crime" has been committed and is optional for users.
A filter would automatically force users to produce smaller PPT files!
Can this be done as a macro or is it something that must be 'hard
wired' into PPT?
