Creating Subweb

A

Alan

How do I create a subweb? Tried the Microsoft suggestion on my local copy of
my website and it wiped out my index page. I'dlike to avoid that on my live
site!
Thanks!

Create a new folder, name it, then right click and select to convert it to a subweb / subsite.

Note: Not all FP enabled hosting accounts allow users to create subwebs / subsites

THANKS for a wonderfully clean and simple solution! I'll double-check with
ISP but they used to allow subwebs with latest upgrade.

Thomas,
Under File/New FrontPage only offers blank page, text file, from existing
page, more page templates, one-page web site, sharepoint team site, web
package solutions and more web site templates ... nothing identified as
"folder".

I did create a new one-page website but could not find a menu option or
anyplace that a right-click would produce a "convert to subweb/subsite"
option. What do I click on or where to get this option?

Thanks for your help.

In folder view right click on the screen and choose New, Folder. Name the
folder. Then right-click on the folder and choose Convert to web. Another
way to do it is to just open your site and choose File, New and select an
Empty Web from the web site templates. Create the web at
http://www.yourdomain.com/webname where webname will be the name of your sub
web.

Thanks for the help, worked like a charm. Amazing how simple this computer
stuff is when you know which button to push at the right time.
