Creating tasks or contacts with onenote

I have onenote 2007. When I try to insert, outlook task, all of the date
selections are greyed out. When I attempt to sync the option is greyed and
not available. When I try to save a onenote item as a outlook contact, the
option is greyed out. Is there a setting that has to be changed in order to
sync onenote with outlook? I couldn't find anything on the web about it.
