creating tgemplates

Hi,

Is it possible to create a document template that will automatically fill in
certain fields? I have worked out how to create a template, but at the moment
to mark in the document where things (i.e company name, date) need to be
added I have just written <insert.... here>. I am hoping it's possible for
either the document to automatically generate these things or have the
template in such a way that when I click of a "insert here" it automatically
deletes the reminder and I can type in whatever is supposed to be there. I am
using Microsoft Word 2003.

I hope this makes sense! I'm not a very "technical" person!

Hello,
If you want to have pre-filled company name in your template, just
make text box in the template, type there information need and save it
as template. Then when tou make a new document based on theis template
the text box with information needed will be there. Sorry for being
short, I will write more ASAP.

Hi Anna -

What you are probably looking for is called a MacroButton Field, but you've
landed in a forum for Mac Word. Check out:

http://word.mvps.org/faqs/tblsfldsfms/UsingMacroButton.htm

If you have any specific problems the PC Word groups are listed at:

Hi CyberTaz,

Thanks for your response, it was very helpful. I apologise for being in the
wrong forum! I didn't realise I was in Mac Word. I read the links you
suggested and it's exactly what I'm looking for.

Thanks again.

Thanks for touching back - and don't apologize for being here, as it's
[probably] not completely your doing in the first place.
