Creating Watermarks

Hello,

I need some help creating a watermark in a Word doc. What
I want to do is to insert a text box into the
header/footer layer of the document and rotate it 45
degrees with the words "Internal Use Only"

The problems I am encountering are...

1. The option to rotate the text box 45 degree is greyed
out.

2. The text box disappears when it overlaps a table object
or graphic object. I tried changing the ordering (bring to
front etc) but no sucess.

Is this type of requirement supported in Word? Are there
are options available to fulfil this requirement?

Bob,

You can use WordArt to type Internal Use Only, and the
drawing toolbar commands to rotate and position in your
header as a watermark.

you might try using Word Art. You have the ability to
enter text, modify, rotate, and change color. After
entering and positioning, right-click the object and ...

click...

Format Word Art | Colors and Lines: and select
Semitransparent.

Make sure you select a solid color.


If you don't see Word Art listed...


Click...

View | Toolbars: and select Word Art

You don't say what version of Word you're using, but I'll assume it's
something earlier than Word 2002, in which you can easily create text
watermarks using Format | Background | Printed Watermark. So see the KB
