Creative Writer 2.0

It seems that Creative Writer 2.0 cannot be used on
Windows operating systems 2000, NT and XP. We have tried
several times to install it and there is always a problem
with it working properly. Does anyone know of a fix for
this problem? I work with kids and really want to use
the many exciting features I see in this program!

Have you tried installing via XP's compatibility wizard?

Hope this is useful to you. Let us know.

I fail to see what this has to do with Office - CW wasn't an Office
application - it's also a decade old - it was released pre-95, yet it sounds
as though you've just acquired it! Support for it ceased eighteen months ago
and it was never designed to be run under an NT-based OS anyway; and, before
you ask, no, there isn't an updated version.

I suggest you find an up-to-date application that fits your needs - look at
companies that produce educational software - Broderbund, Tivola and
Europress are the three that spring instantly to mind. Sierra (or whatever
they are these days) used to produce educational software; whether they
still do, I've no idea.

It's on the Accessories Menu.

Read in "Help" about it by searching for "compatibility wizard".

Hope this is useful to you. Let us know.

You know the Help and Support Centre isn't there because the programmers
were ahead of schedule and wanted something to do to fill the time - suggest
you utilise it.

Thanks sooooo much Rob, you were a tremendous help! It
is now working on my XP system at home thanks to the info
you gave me. I work for a non-profit (Boys & Girls
Clubs) and it is a program I have been wanting to use
with my computer students, especially those that have
trouble reading and writing. I have 10 computers in 4
different labs that I want to use Creative Writer in, one
lab is all NT, another is 2000, and the other two have
XP. Now hopefully I can get the program running in all
of the labs! Your help was tremendous, my techs had told
me that the program was incompatable and were going to
remove it from all 40 computers. Being non-profit, we
don't have the funds to replace the program with
something more recent, so I was in jepordy of losing it
completely. Now even my younger kids can create web
pages too, Creative Writer has an excellent, easy to use
template for younger kids that don't have much computer
experience. I got some "smart-aleck" answers from
another person that I ignored, I'm soooo glad you took
the time to answer my question seriously. Thanks again
sooooooo much! Cherie
