credit card payments on web site

Hi

We have the PayPal credit card acceptance method on one of our website but
we keep getting their security notification (which I think is automatic if
you take payments over £4,500 per day). There are other problems with PayPal
– such as “very†erratic payment notification, etc.

We have looked at our bank’s integrated system (that will allow credit card
acceptance) but to say it is complicated would be an understatement – if fact
when you contact them they seem quite proud of the fact that it is difficult
to integrate (maybe they have not heard of customer service). Oh well their
loss?

Anyway, does anyone have any suggestions of methods they have used to
incorporate credit card acceptance of their site – that is not too difficult
to set up (for a novice like me).

Many thanks

You are welcome. I think at the bottom of the page, you will find links to the different processors.

Being in the UK, you would be somewhat limited and I am sure the link that
Thomas provided has specific information. The gateway there is Protx - and
there might be another one soon with KKR buying First Data.

For example, the gateway in Austalia uses the same backend as LinkPoint in
the United States. It might take some time for this to happen of course.

Paypal might offer your country the option for users to stay on your site -
check Paypal's page from your country to see if that is an option as well.

Yes they do but it seems a little complex for my skill level. We did have a
web designer last year but they moved to another firm and we never got
another - so I'm now the IT dept :-(

Chances are the electronic payment gateway integration might be a bit too
much as well.

Look to see which one(s) you might like and then hire a developer that is
skilled in the API and integration

Yep - you are right. I think we will need to "get someone in". I actually
develope databases but it seems that some companies seem to think that all
programmes are the same.

Oh well - at least it's not raining :)
