Terry,

Project is not setup for this sort of thing. It is not an accounting
system. It is a system to assist in planning projects; especially in
forecasting the future schedule (by computation) and keeping track of
all the date related to progress.

You need to gather the cost information from accounting.
You will have trouble becuase Project is costed by individual task and your
acounting information will be summarized by a charge number (or similar).
Now you have to decide how you will distribute that cost.

We have Project calc costs manually, and have a one line cost for each
charge number. We aslo assign the same charge number to multiple lines in
the file so it can be grouped. It does not work very well, but does
somewhat integrated cost/schedule.

Again, as Rob said, this is not a cost accounting system.
