Criteria filtration doesn't work with Filemaker Pro

No matter how many combinations I try, I cannot get the criteria to work in terms of filtering the results of the request. Every time it returns the correct fields that I selected but it returns every single record in the table. Sometimes that doesn't even work and it says "Error: object not found."

Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong? Can anyone help?

It would be quite helpful to know what version of Excel you're using & which
of the Filter features you're tying to employ. Just as a guess until you
furnish more info:

It sounds like the Advanced Filter, so make sure:

1- that you have the Criteria Range set up (sounds like you do),

2- That you have criteria in the cell(s) immediately below the field names
in the criteria range, and

3- That you accurately specify the Criteria range in the Advanced Filter
dialog - you need to specify not only the range of cells containing the
captions but also the rows below it that contain the actual criteria.

I'm further guessing that you're not accurately doing #3 so the filter
doesn't know what selection criteria to use. Therefore it doesn't use any &
returns all records.
