Critical error?

There is a user on campus who is using OS 10.3.4 and Office v. X.
Every now and then in Word, she'll get this error message: "Unexpected
crital error. Can't start program."

Does anyone have any suggestions? It is not a consistant error, but
happens often enough to be annoying.
