Hello,
Actually, critical path and milestones are two very different things. If an
activity slips on the critical path, the entire project slips. A milestone
is just a way to highlight key areas in the project where certain important
deliverables are complete or nearing completion.
With Microsoft Project, the critical path is automatically calculated.
Milestones are represented by creating zero-day tasks (however, you can have
tasks with more than zero days and mark it as a milestone). You can tie
important deliverables to the milestone so it automatically adjusts to show
when the milestone will hit.... do this by using the predecessor/successor
links to tie the deliverables to their appropriate milestones.
Is this what you were looking for?

I am not sure whether MS Project can represent them (critical path VS
milestone) both with associated deliverables.
