Crop command not lit

Hi,

Depends on the type of image. Can you cut it, then Edit| Paste Special as a
bitmap or png and see if that fixes it.

Why is the crop command not lit on my picture tool bar in Power Point?

What kind of object did you select on your slide? It is not lit, if no
object is selected, of course. Furthermore it does not work for AutoShapes
and pictures which are fills of AutoShapes and not for grouped objects.

Best regards,
Ute

Thanks for those suggestions gentlemen. I have got over the problem
temporarily by cropping the photo in Photoshop and then importing it into the
presentation instead of its original. I was a little baffled when the crop
icon on the Picture toolbar ws the only icon that wasn't lit. It has been lit
in the past on similar presentations using similar photos. They are jpeg. Any
more ideas?
Thanks
Charlie

The crop command will not light until you've highlighted something that can
be cropped.

thanks for those questions and answers gentlemen. The answers to the
questions. I intall the whole of a folder of photos from the insert/picture/
new photo album. It has worked fine and so has the crop. To try to crop a
slide I click on the photo and the slide has the handles and the picture
editor appears......and this is the rub....... without the crop tool
highlighted!

Charlie,
This is because when you use Photo Album to add the pictures it either puts
the pictures in the background or into an autoshape. Neither of these can be
cropped or re-centered. If you want to insert multiple pictures to multiple
slides at once, and have them remain croppable, I recommend using Shyam's
Image Importer Wizard. Information on this tool and others like it can be
found here:
