Six OneNote Questions:

1. Where is the crop tool ...So I don't have to keep screen capturing into
word or Publisher to crop an image and paste it into OneNote...

2. OneNote web links work awesome. How do I create a local link to
C:\Documents and Settings\Chris\My Documents\_Personal\Education\Pareto.doc ?

3. How do I setup OneNote so that my Folders and Sections at the top "stack"
in several rows instead of scrolling off screen to the right or left so that
I forget what folders and sections are where?

4. How do I setup OneNote sow that all current and new pages have the small
grid background?

5. How do I learn how to use the OneNote Screen Clipping? It seems to only
allow me to clip from inside a new OneNote window when I want to minimize
OneNote and grab a shot of something else on the screen?

6. How do I show column and row borders that I have pasted into OneNote from
Excel or Word?
This is the coolest tool.

There isn't a crop tool. You could screen capture the image, cropped as you
like, then paste the cropped version over the original I guess.
2. OneNote web links work awesome. How do I create a local link to
C:\Documents and Settings\Chris\My
Documents\_Personal\Education\Pareto.doc ?

Just drag and drop that file from Explorer is the easy way -- then select
"Build Link". Alternatively you can try prefacing the text you have there
with file:// if I recall correctly.
3. How do I setup OneNote so that my Folders and Sections at the top

Not available in the current version.
4. How do I setup OneNote sow that all current and new pages have the

Hmmm...current I don't think you can. New pages it would have to be set as
your default stationery.

With what you want on the screen press Windows Key + S or right-click the
System Tray icon for OneNote and choose Screen Capture.

I'm not sure I understand this one. Can you elaborate?

Tx SO much Ben,

You asked me to clarify this one:

I paste an Excel table with borders into OneNote and there are no borders
now. And I cannot add border lines once it is on OneNote.

Thank you.

yes, I think a crop tool would be good especially if you use insert doc as
image option ?

Chris,

I will respond to your question 1.

In a sense, the OneNote screen clipping tool is already a crop tool.

Ben gave you some options as to how to use screen clipping. Another
is, from inside OneNote select Insert | Screen Clipping.

1. Go to the Web page or what that you want to crop the image from

2. Go to OneNote and select Insert | Screen Clipping

3. Drag across the image in the Web page / whatever

4. The cropped image is on your OneNote page.

Not ideal for high-res images, but adequate for personal notes etc.
