croping

I have taken two pictures and scanned them at the same time. Now I wanted to edit them, and I started to do so but after I have croped one the other that was on the page seems to dispear. Is there away for me to be able to crop one with out the other vanishing

No, but if you cut out one of the images and paste into a new separate image,
then you can crop each of them however you wish. Cropping, by definition,
removes everything but the selection you've created.
