Cropping Pictures

W

wdyer

I am running WORD 97. I have from cut and paste some photos in a word
document that I have saved. I opened the document and the photo
reappears. I then went into View and then Toolbars and then to
Picture.
When I click on the photo and use the icon from Picture I am able to
crop (cut) the photo. I then saved the cropped photo; however when I go
to retrieve the photo or have sent it as an e-mail attachment - I am
able to "uncrop" the photo. Is there is way to crop a photo in a word
doc and save it so that it cannot be "uncropped" by the viewer?

Thanks so much for any suggestions,

W. Dyer

Changes made to embedded images are permanent. You'll have to start again
from the original image.

I believe the OP is asking about just the opposite problem, that the changes
are *not* permanent, which has been my experience as well. I believe it
would be necessary to crop the picture in an external graphics app, then
reinsert it into Word.
