Cross Functional Workflow Template

Marc D.

Used the Cross Functional Workflow Template with five columns. Everytime I
close and reopen the saved document the columns switch order and all of my
connecting lines and stencils get out of whack. When I try and move the
columns back to the original order some of the lines and stencils fail to
move with them. I am not using Grouping. Any ideas why this is happening.
This is really annoying.

Hi,

I am having a similar problem when copying or moving the diagram. I have
tried various methods to select the diagram and its swim lanes and more often
than not after pasting it into a new page the swim lanes have changed order.
This also happens when I try and move the diagram around on the page to help
with printing.

I noticed it also sometimes happens when I am changing the size of the digram.

I noticed that when this reordering happens some of the smart connectors
"unlink" themselves from the shapes that they were originally anchored to.

I am using visio 2003 Professional with sp2 installed.

Thanks,

If anyone is willing to send us a file that demonstrates the problem, we'd
like to see it. You can e-mail it to me at marknel (at) microsoft (dot)

Just curious if anyone sent Mark a file or if anyone else has any insight.

This is happening to everyone here and it is guaranteed to happen if you try
and copy the entire contents of one view into another (empty) view (which is
not an unusual thing for us to do). The bands rearrange and process step and
connector objects move around willy-nilly. If you then reposition the group,
the mess gets even worse. Sounds like this is consistent with what "Kevin"
has been experiencing.

This bug is new in 2003 SP2. It wasn't happening before, in 2003 SP1.

It's a real pain in the butt, I gotta tell ya.
