If I click on a cross-reference from within a footnote, Word 2003 jumps to
the appropriate section in the Document Map in the lefthand panel; however,
within the main document, it does not jump to the referenced paragraph, but
leaves the cursor positioned inside the footnote.
This might not be very serious if the document were to be viewed only from
within Word itself, but it is being converted to Adobe Reader. While
hyperlinks to cross-referenced paragraphs do convert to Adobe Reader from
within the main body of the text, the above-mentioned cross-references from
within footnotes do not even show the defective behavior one encounters in
Word itself. Instead, the resulting Adobe Reader document is unaware of the
cross-reference (the cursor does not even change to a pointing finger).
Is there a workaround for this? Is the issue fixed in Word 2007 or 2008? (If
so, I'll upgrade.) Currently I do have SP3 for Word 2003 installed.
Thanks for your help.
