Cross Reference or something else

Jane Meyer

Hi I have posted this once before but weren't sure where I
placed it. So forgive me, if this happens to be posted
twice on the same news group.

I am using Word 2000.

I need to create 2 documents.

Document 1
Has textbook references throughout the document. For
example:

Author: MI Macmullen
Title: How to cook
Year Published: 1995
Pages you need to read: 1-95

Each of the records (that is, MI Macmullen, How to cook,
1995 and 1-95) has been bookmarked.

Document 2
Summary of all the textbooks cited from Document 1.

How do you do that WITHOUT using Master document. How do
you get specific records from Document 1 bookmarks. For
example, a summary could look like this:

MI Macmullen, 1-95.

I really need your help with this matter. A step-by-step
instruction would be REALLY, REALLY appreciated.

Thanks all. :)

Hi Jane,

Check out the INCLUDETEXT field - it can pull in either a bookmark to a
whole document.

Cheers

Hi Macropod,
Check out the INCLUDETEXT field - it can pull in either a bookmark to a
whole document.
I'd like to add that this should usually be used with the \! switch to
prevent any fields in the bookmarked text from updating to reflect the
environment in the "target" document (page numbers, for example).
