Cross reference problem in Word 2002

Deena Larsen

hi

1) I am using cross reference table numbers and figure numbers (number and
caption only). For example: blah blah blah Table 3-26 shows that blah blah
blah...

2) However, when I close my document, I get a mysterious page break in front
of SOME of these, but not all...blah blah blah Table 3-26 shows that blah
blah blah...blah blah blah Table 3-26 shows that blah blah blah...blah blah
blah and here we see that

====page break===
Table 3-26 shows that blah blah blah...

3) I manually delete the page break, mutter a few curse words, and then
save. I open the document again and magically the page break occurs again.
Why is this happening and how do I keep these unwanted page breaks from
happening directly over some of my table numbers?

Thanks

The problem is most likely that the Ref bookmark that should only include
"Table xx" or "Figure xx" of each cross-referenced caption also includes a
page break.

I have made a demo that illustrates how this problem occurs and how to
repair and prevent it. To view the demo, click the demo link below Problem 3
