Cross Reference to Figures updates to include the figure

I have ~80 figures in my document. Each one is referenced at least once. I
also have several other cross-reference types (index entries, toc entries,
references to other sections) when I do a "select all' and update (F9) on the
document, for some reason SOMe of the figure cross references get updated to
also include the figure. I have double checked my formatting. All images are
"normal' format, all figure captions are 'caption" format. I cannot
understand why this would be happening. It appears to be random - not all
figures are always updated in this corrupt way. Any of you have any idea why
this would be happening? Thank you!

This happens when you get the figure inside the bookmark for the caption.
The easiest way to fix this is to delete the cross-reference and reinsert
it; this will create a new bookmark for just the caption.
