Cross Referenced Caption for a rotated drawing

I have a full-page figure that is rotated. How do you suggest that I can put
a caption (figure number) that is also rotated. I would like to be able to
cross reference this caption and have it show up in the List of Figures. I
know Word doesn't support cross references in text boxes - what are my other
options to get the text rotated and still have the cross reference supported.

Text can also be rotated in frames and table cells, both of which can be
cross-referenced.

When I had that problem, I put the caption in a table cell under the
picture ,where it belonged ,and on the same page (unrotated) inserted
a numbered caption and colored it White. (Would Hidden also work?) It
got picked up by all the mechanisms that needed to know about it, but
it wasn't visible.

Tricky. Thanks!

Guess I could do a 1-celled table with no borders. I will give it a try.
Thanks for your help.

Can I also change the page-setup to landscape for just one page? Is it
possible to do that with section breaks?

Yes, see http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Formatting/LandscapeSection.htm. The
first part of this article explains how to insert the section breaks.
