I have a major legal document (commercial lease) that I use a lot, I am trying to set it up as a precedent to use as a basis each time. So, I pain-stakingly replaced all my clause references with 'cross-references'. The first time I did this, finsihed the doc etc, then tried to email it to the client, every single cross-reference got replaced with 'Error!cross-reference not found' or variations thereof. THe second time (after going through the .... thing and replacing all the error! bits with the cross-references again)... I have just discovered that it is happening again! What is going on! No, the references are noe being deleted or anything like that. The cross-references are all to numbered paragraphs, except one, to a page number.
So- what has now happened is that I open up the document, if I click on a cross-reference to 'follow the link' it takes me straight to the top left corner of the doc, if I 'update the fields' then I get the error! message. I have been all through the help files and found nothing useful
