Cross-references in complex examples

Hi :)

In a paragraph (example) like:

(27) a. Harry is silly.
'Harry ist doof.'

b. Sissy is clever.
'Sissy ist klug.'

How can I refer to (27a) or (27b) (the cross references must appear
precisely so), and how can I get the correct updating when I manipulate the
examples in the whole document, so that the cross references correctly
appear, e.g. as (25a) and (25b) when I delete two preceding examples?
I would be grateful for an answer,
Dirk

I can't of any easy way to make the cross references like this if the
numbering itself looks (if only slightly) different. I'd strongly
consider changing the specs in any case! ;-)

If you bookmark both the "27" and the "a", you can certainly put
together a combined "cross reference" enclosed by paranthesis. Now,
whether you are able to bookmark those depends heavily on what kind of
numbering you're dealing there ...

Hi Robert,
I have made an automatic list numbering (Word 97). Besides I have problems
with the embedded Word-97 lists. Are there these problems with Word 2000
too? I have seen that changing the specs of the built-in model lists makes
Word crazy...

I don't see a fundamental change in the way numbering behaves in Word
2000 (or 2002, 2003) compared to 97. If anything, the whole application
is supposed to be a bit more stable.
