cross references in footers don't print correctly

Cross references in footers which display the page number of a cross
reference on another page print as the page number of the page being printed.
In my example I have a set of financial statements which on page 6 says "The
notes on pages 8 to 15 form part of these financial statements" and this
displays correctly in page layout view but prints as "The notes on pages 6 to
6 form part of these financial statements".
this appears to be a straighforward printing error in Word 2003. it did not
occure in previous versions

Try printing in reverse order.
