Cross-referencing Problem - HELP!

O

Oli

Hi,

I have quite a large document with lots of figures and
cross references to captions. However, now whenever I
create a new figure and a new caption, then cross-reference
it, Word inserts the cross reference AND a copy of the
figure right in to the middle of my paragraph. I can delete
this figure but when I go to print preview it comes back
and the original is deleted.

Thank you in advance for your time,

Oli

The problem is that you've gotten your graphic inside the bookmark created
when you cross-referenced the caption. Delete the graphic from its current
position. Then press Enter at the end of the previous paragraph (instead of
the beginning of the caption paragraph) and put the graphic there.
