Cross-referencing REF fields to tables - where does the page break come from?

Hello, exalted Word gurus.

One of my colleagues is using a REF field to Cross-reference to a table (to
display the name of the table in the document), and as the REF field is near
the bottom of the page, a Page Break is being mysteriously appended to the
Field Code. I can't get rid of it for love nor money!

I think what is happening is that the REF is taking some formatting from the
table it's referencing, and applying it to the Field Code. Is there any way
to stop it doing this, such as applying a switch or something?

Thanks very much for your help with this - I'm pulling my hair out in huge
chunks at the moment!

Regards,

Stu

Click on the ref field and hit Format-->Paragraph-->Line and page breaks
tab, and see if "Page Break Before" is selected. If so, it could be
formatted for the paragaph, or for the style that's applied to it.
