When Word97 introduced floating ( drawing-layer) textboxes as opposed to
frames (text-layer), they stated that many features that work in frames may
not work in text-boxes
(http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=http://support.microsoft.com
:80/support/kb/articles/q167/7/38.asp&NoWebContent=1). Specifically any
cross-referencing to captions, figures etc will not work in text-boxes. I'm
now using 2002 and the same problem. The 'convert to frame workaround' is no
good if the text-box is grouped with other floating obs like equations etc.
Is this something that MS can't or won't fix, EVER?
Thanks
