Crossed connectors and forming a little bridge

When I have many connectors which cross each other is there some way to show
that they do not join but instead cross over each other. This is normally
done by showing one line crossing the other like a hump backed bridge (semi
circle in mid line). However, I do not appear to have this as an option and
nothing happens automatically. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance

Depends on a steady hand, but have you tried the freeform tool? Autoshapes |
Lines and the centre one on the bottom row. If you hold down the shift key
you can draw a straight line, release the shift key and do the curve and hold
down again to do the straight line. Double-click to finish. Hopefully this
helps or is some use at another time!

Am I correct in thinking that while this forms a connecting line it is not
actually a "connector". That is, the line does not move with the box it
connects, unlike a true connector. Or am I mistaken?

Thanks

Keep in mind that Word is a word processing program which just happens to
have some "convenience features" built in. What you are looking for is
referred to a s a "jog". If you need to created complex drawings with that
type of effect you'd do far better to use a program written for that purpose
then inserting the finished product into your doc as a graphic object. You'd
be surprised how inexpensive they can be, for example:
