CSV

There sure is alot of CSV questions....tried many of the suggested solutions
- no luck.

I have a file exported from SAP in Excel format. I then load it into Excel
and save as .csv file. It saves with the .csv extension and the Excel/Txt
icon. When I open the file in notepad it is not comma delimited but looks tab
delimited.

I did check the control panel settings under Regional and Language Options
and the delimiter setting is already ",".

Any ideas?

Thank Bob,

That is exactly what I do. The import file comes from SAP and that may be
the problem. I took a look at the data the exported file used and it "seems"
that the data in the spreadsheet format used by SAP lumps everything into one
cell with tabs between data within the same cell. So, of course, the
resulting csv file will appear to be tab delimited vice comma delimited.

Sorry for the confusion but I did learn alot from reading the other
solutions like the Regional/Language settings in the control panel.

Thanks for you time

OH! Well perhaps the solution is to change the SAP export file extension
to .txt and then use the Import wizard to select the Tab as the separator.

Sounds great. Our SAP configurator will have to straighten out the export
format and then we can use the great idea of a macro mentioned in these
threads to batch convert them.

Once again thanks for your time. Jack
