I'm using Word 2003, and Ctrl+Alt+D, the standard shortcut key for Insert
Endnote Now doesn't work. Going to Tools>Customize>Commands Tab and clicking
on Keyboard, and selecting Insert as the Category and InsertEndnoteNow as
the Command shows that Alt+Ctrl+D is the shortcut key for Normal.dot. If I
change the shortcut key for InsertEndnoteNow to (for example, Ctrl+Alt+V or
Ctrl+Alt+A) activating the command inserts a footnote instead of an endnote.
Probably the biggest clue is that if I try to assign Ctrl+Alt+D for
InsertEndnoteNow, the key combination is not recognized by Word. That is,
pressing Ctrl+Alt+D with the cursor in the "Press new shortcut key" box does
not register an entry. I'm wondering if there is a problem with the scan
codes for my keyboard. Does anyone know of a way to check that?
